Antonio Michele Miti

Postdoctoral researcher in Mathematics

About me:

I recently got a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore and KU Leuven (double degree, International Doctoral Program in Science).

My doctoral research project focused on the higher generalization of comomentum maps in multisymplectic geometry and it has been supervised by Prof. Mauro Spera (UCSC) and Prof. Marco Zambon (KU Leuven).

I received my master's degree in Physics from the University of Milano and I wrote my thesis under the supervision of Prof. Claudio Dappiaggi at the University of Pavia .

  • Internship in Java Programming; Mar 2016 - Jul 2016,CST
  • Student collaboration; May 2014 - Feb 2015, LCM

Complete CV

Research Interest:

Broadly speaking, my interests revolve around the interplay between Geometry and theoretical physics.

My doctoral project proposes an intermingled research paths, mostly focussed towards symplectic geometry and its n-plectic (equivalently, multisymplectic) generalisations, together with applications to modern physics issues, both classical and quantum mechanical, with an emphasis on topological aspects.

  • Multi-symplectic geometry and L-∞ Algebras
  • Higher structures and Homotopy structures
  • Axiomatization and mathematical foundations of classical and quantum field theories
  • Geometric Mechanics of Field Systems
  • Geometric and Algebraic Quantization
